Yamassee Bicycle Trail

Enjoy a day of cycling through our countryside. Follow the trail just off Hwy 280, beginning and ending at the historic Montgomery County Courthouse.



The Cooper-Connor House

The Cooper-Connor House is the oldest house in Montgomery County. Richard Cooper, a soldier of the Revolutionary War who is buried at Dead River Cemetery, used the labor of slaves in constructing the house. It is located on the Brewton-Parker Campus where

Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby

The Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby takes place in Lyons, Georgia every April. Thirty-five to forty participants compete every year in this event that draws 200- 300 spectators. The participants race down Darby Hill in Lyons for a chance to win the first



Sweet Onion Century

Like to ride? Join the Sweet Onion Cyclists for the Sweet Onion Century bicycle ride in early May. This event draws over 150-170 bicycle riders from all around.



Tournaments

While in town, catch the Lyons Youth Baseball-Softball Tournament at the Lyons Recreation Department in June. The tournament is the largest and longest on-going tournament in the state of Georgia.



A Taste of Vidalia

An annual fundraising event held the last Thursday of September and sponsored by the Vidalia Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The event showcases local caterers and restaurants.



Vidalia Onion Museum

Want to learn more about Vidalia Onions and the history of our town? You can find fun and historical information about Vidalia at the Vidalia Onion Museum. The museum is currently in the beginning stages of renovation.



Uvalda Ole Time Farm Festival

Step back in time and enjoy a day of yesteryear at the Ol’ Time Farm Festival in Uvalda, Georgia (located just 10 minutes from downtown Vidalia). The City of Uvalda will hold the 15th annual festival in Fall 2007!



Vidalia Onion Factory

Pulled…dried…clipped…processed…labeled and shipped…Stop by Stanley Farms to get a peek at how it all happens behind the scenes and before the Vidalias hit the supermarket shelves. Tours are available late April - mid June.



Vidalia Community Chorus

This organization of local community singers presents a 2-3 concert season featuring a variety of music, including classical, jazz, pop, Broadway, and Christmas favorites.



Secret Forest Christmas Trees

It’s a merry place to be year ‘round. You will get to see how over 5 varieties of Christmas trees are grown. You can cut your own tree, have one cut for you, buy potted trees, or just come for a visit.
